Triangle Granite & Tile is committed to being environmentally responsible. Focusing on conservation and sustainability is the right thing to do for our company, our employees, our customers, our community, and our environment.
That’s why we offer green countertops and eco-friendly products and practice environmental responsibility in our operations including recycling 100% of the water we use in our shop and recycling and reusing products whenever possible.
Our Commitment to Environmental Stewardship
At Triangle Granite & Tile we are committed to being green and environmentally friendly at five levels.
1. Sustainable Countertop Fabrication Process
We converted our countertop fabrication process to a wet cutting process several years ago. This was good for our company, our employees and was environmentally friendly. In a dry cutting process, the granite dust particles get into the air and spread into the environment. With the wet cutting process the dust is immediately dampened and collected by the water, preventing it from getting into the air.
2. 100% Water Recycling System
We invested in a Clear Tech water recycling system from Water Treatment Technologies. This system recycles 100% of the water in our fabrication shop and restores it to guaranteed crystal clear water, filtered to less than 1.2 microns so we can reuse all the water. In addition to saving water and reducing the amount of water we use from the public water supply, we recycle the granite cakes by taking them to the recycling center.
3. Countertop Materials Reused & Recycled
When creating custom countertops, there are typically some unused pieces; some small and some large. We make larger pieces available as remnants and we either use smaller pieces for small jobs or recycle the smaller pieces. By thinking about everything we do with an environmentally conscious mindset, we can significantly increase reuse and recycling and reduce waste.
4. Conservation and Reuse of Customer’s Old Products
When we are doing a remodeling project, we recommend to our customers that they consider donating their old cabinets and other reusable items to a good cause. If we can successfully “uninstall” the old items and the customer agrees with donating them to Habitat for Humanity, the Salvation Army, or Goodwill, it is good for everyone and good for the environment.
5. Offer Natural, Green & Eco-Friendly Products
We are proud to offer dozens and dozens of natural and environmentally friendly building products and green countertops.
